A green friendly car doesn't exactly mean a weaker car, Tesla proves this right with their tough new electric powered exotic car which is the 2009 Tesla Roadster, this is a 2 door 2 seater sports car that is powered with an electric motor, it was introduce in July of 2006 as a prototype and started the official production in March 2008. The Tesla Roadster shares a couple of components with the Lotus Elise such as having the same chassis so far that's the only components shared between the 2 cars.

The Tesla Roadster exotic car is a Rear wheel drive that equips a 3 phase, 4 pole electric motor and has a 6831 lithium ion cell battery pack that powers the electric motor and weighs an approximate 900 lbs it is a bit heavy but with the reduction of a heavy gasoline engine and a gearbox they were able to squeeze out a 248 horsepower that transmits through a single speed flat torque delivery that produces a top speed of 125 mph, and enables Tesla Roadster to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, it has a rpm redline of 13,000, and with an additional $3,000 a high speed charger will be included which enables to fully charge the battery in 3.5 hours.

Standard features are featured in this Tesla Roadster such as power windows and locks, cruise control, air conditioning, special features are also included such as a Blaupunkt MP3 cd player with auxiliary jack with a 7 speaker premium sound system, a Bluetooth interface system for cell phones, a touch-screen navigation system with voice guidance, a heated sport seats with inflatable lumbar support, a three-spoke steering wheel, a Homelink remote, the Interior and exterior design of this exotic car are also offered by Tesla for the buyers selection of choice, other modifications of course have an additional cost such as the Aluminum wheels and etc.

The battery power indicates that the Tesla Roadster is able to range up to 202 miles driving in a steady speed cruise, and just like a gasoline powered car when driving it aggressively the said numbers might drop to a half which could result in an approximate 60 road miles then you'll need to recharge your battery.
